I am not sure of everyone who knew Bill, but I learned of some news earlier this week and have managed to confirm that Bill passed away quite recently.

He belonged to several local clubs: Glade CC, Lea Valley CC and Unity amongst others and I know he helped a number of local riders and kids (I was one of them!) - he was of course a ABCC Regional Coach, later becoming a Fellow of the ABCC.

For those who knew him, naturally you will have your memories - some good, some bad and several quite funny. Bill was quite a character in his own way and had a lot of aquaintances over the years in this sport. I got to know him back in 1985 as a rather impressionable 13 year old when I first dabbled in a schools race at the Eastway. Bill took me under his wing after that event, as was his way, needless to say he left an impression and I was very proud to have known him God knows where I would be today.

Well to use Trevors words, he has now gone on to a cycle ride to that big garden in the sky.
